We have a great opportunity to raise money for the NRL, and we need your help to make the most of it.
The proceeds for the 50/50 raffle at NTMA’s fall conference will once again be donated to the NRL. As you might have heard, last year’s contest was a huge success. We raised over $11,000 for the NRL, while our lucky winner, Zoi Romanchuk, took home over $11,000 as well.
Since last year’s raffle we’ve put those contributions to good use.
New Website
The first contact many students and teachers have with the NRL is through this website. Thanks to last year’s success, we were able to add functionality that enables us to share up-to-the minute news about both the national and regional NRL programs, better connect and highlight regional programs, and provide resources to assist with new program creation. All of this helps to make the NRL stronger and facilitates growth – which means more students across the country get excited about the STEM disciplines and the manufacturing industry.
New Regional Programs
Regional programs are the life blood of the NRL. Since last October, we have helped new regional programs get started in Northern Utah, Kansas City, and Akron, OH. We now have 23 total programs in various stages of development around the country, and your support not only helps get these new programs started, but also helps us support existing programs in a more robust way.
Outstanding National Competition
The NRL season culminates in our National Competition. Students work hard all year with their manufacturing partners to build the toughest, most innovative robot possible, all with the hope of taking home the national crown. To reward that effort, it’s our job to make sure the event is a great experience for everyone who participates. If you weren’t able to join us for this year’s competition, you can get a small taste of the excitement here.
Finally, I want you to know this progress would not have been possible without the support of people like you. We want every student interested in competing in the National Robotics League to be able to afford the program, so we keep the financial barriers to entry as low as possible. That means in order to grow the program and put on great regional and national events, we rely on contributions from people who are committed to getting students excited about careers in STEM based industries.
If you would like to continue to see this program grow, here’s how you can help.
- Buy a ticket for this year’s raffle. Our goal is to send someone home with $15,000. Remember, you don’t have to attend the NTMA Fall Gala (or even be a member of NTMA) to participate and win.
- Send a link to this post to 5 friends and challenge them to join you in supporting the future of STEM Education and American Manufacturing. Purchasing a $100 ticket is certainly more comfortable than pouring ice on your head, and this show of support not only helps make this great program possible, it also comes with an opportunity to significantly grow your bank account.
Thanks again for helping to lead the charge toward a bright future for our kids, country, and industry!
P.S. If you’d like to buy tickets, but would rather pay with a check, you can do that too. Just use this form instead of the link above. Thanks for your help!
